The Complete Travel Toiletries Checklist
Sometimes when I travel, I have the hardest time trying to decide what toiletries I need for that specific trip. It also makes a difference on where I’m going and how long that trip will last. It can be a serious struggle!
When traveling, it is so important to have a checklist for packing. And so, I wanted to share with you a comprehensive and helpful checklist of toiletries that you may need to bring. You never know when you might be forgetting something, so it’s good to have a list to check things off as you pack.
I will be heading to London and Scotland in just a few weeks and decided to make a checklist for myself. I thought it would be beneficial for me, and so I decided I would share my list with everyone. If you’re anything like me, you often think of random things to pack in the days leading up to a trip and then forget about them when it comes time to pack your bags! To avoid this be sure to add them to your list as soon as they come to mind.

How To Pack Your Toiletry Bag
Organizing your toiletry bag
Layout all the products that you think you might need, then decide what is a must take with, and what you can get by without for a few days. If I’m solely carrying on, then I break it down to the bare minimum, but if I’m checking a bag, I pretty much grab a little of everything.
How to avoid leakage of liquids
I usually put my liquids in a plastic bag or reusable waterproof bag to prevent any leakage during flight. Even if you’re not traveling by plane, it’s a good idea to put liquid items in a reusable plastic bag. That way, if a leak or spill occurs, it’s contained inside the bag and won’t get all over the rest of your luggage. I also saw a great idea that I might try on my next trip. Open your container lid and add plastic wrap over the opening, then replace the cap. It sounds like a great idea!!
Reusable travel containers
These work tremendously when you have a large item; for example, my face wash comes in an 8 oz. container, so I will add my face wash to a reusable container, and it works wonderfully!
TSA’s 3-1-1- Liquids Rule for carrying On
TSA’s 3-1-1 liquids rule refers to how many liquids you can bring in your carry-on bags: Each liquid must be in a 3.4-ounce or less container, all containers must be placed inside one clear quart-sized plastic bag, and each passenger is only allowed one plastic bag.
What I found to be the Best Toiletry Bag
These are the two toiletry bags that I have most recently used in my travels.
Here is one that I recommend for carrying on; it’s a perfect size and easy to grab out of your bag when going through security. Anrui Airline Kit.
This second bag is sold as a cosmetics or jewelry case from Stella & Dot, but I found it works great for me and my travels. It fits everything, and the divider really helps you maximize your space.
I have also used a hanging toiletry bag which I used for years and it worked great, but I thought I would try something new for these next few trips.
I’ve put together a printable toiletries list for travel that you can download as a PDF and print off at home to make packing easy every time. Let me know if this is helpful for you, or if I should add to the list. I’m sure I am forgetting something!
