I hope you are having a wonderful, memorable summer! I can’t believe summer is almost over!

Today I wanted to share the nautical beach tablescape I did a few weeks ago when I had the family over for dinner. It was a bit challenging for we are in the middle of a home renovation, but the deck is still in great shape and we have been trying to take advantage of it as much as we can.

Some of my greatest memories made are with family and friends as we gather around a table.

I enjoy entertaining and it’s so fun to have a themed tablescape as we gather.

How I set my patio table

I love using nautical accents for my centerpiece, which is fitting because we live on the water. This was such a fun table to put together!

My nautical beach tablescape was not formal and not too fussy, we are usually a very laid-back group and I try to keep things very casual.

We have a wonderful back deck area with a beautiful view of the water. We try to enjoy the view as much as possible and love to share with friends and family.

Our pacific northwest summers go very quickly, and we have to make the best of the short time we have. So, every weekend and weeknight that we can we try to get outside and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Preparing for my guest

I always make sure I have plenty of drinks on hand, mostly wine! LOL When I entertain on the back deck, I usually fill a cooler with some cold beverages so we can avoid going into the house as much as possible.

The wine bucket is actually a bathroom wastebasket that I found at Home Goods. It was the perfect color for my nautical tablescape.

I like to prepare as much as possible in advance, so I don’t have to worry about cooking and being in the kitchen while my guests are enjoying the view.

I try to make the menu planning as easy as possible so I can enjoy my company. And honestly most of the time my company is my children and their significant others. We try to get together at least once a month and usually we add in a few others to the group i.e. my mom and dad, brother or close family friends

Set the Ambiance

The ambiance is so important to me, I love to have candles and some nice soft lighting. Also, I love to have fresh-cut flowers displayed when I can get them. Background music is always a must as well, except when it’s football season then there is usually a game on in the background.

ambiance

Sometimes when I entertain on the deck it’s a bit of a challenge keeping the candles lit. If the wind comes up and it usually does in the evening, it is almost impossible to keep them burning. For this reason, I like to use the flameless candles, but this night I didn’t need to. The wind was cooperating!

Being on the water is so awesome and we get the most amazing sunsets.

It can get a bit chilly

Usually, after the sun has set the temperature does drop pretty fast. I like to have a basket of blankets on hand to share with anyone who is feeling the chill in the air. Or I will throw a few blankets on the back of the chairs to grab with ease when it gets chilly.

For this fun nautical beach tablescape, I found some great things on Amazon. I love Amazon because it is so easy to order, and you can have your items within a few days. If you go to this link Amazon, it will take you to my page where I purchased several items for this nautical theme.

Also, I found some great picks at Home Goods and World Mart. I love to shop around and find unique items.
