Hosting a Galentine’s Day Party
Hosting a Galentine’s Day party is a fantastic way to celebrate friendship and love with your favorite ladies! To me, it’s not just about the festivities—it’s about cherishing the love and support we give one another, lifting each other up, and reminding ourselves that these friendships are just as meaningful and transformative as any other kind of love. Galentine’s Day is a toast to women empowering women, in the most fun, heartfelt, and glitter-filled way possible.
Here’s a guide to planning an unforgettable event
Theme and Decor
What kind of Galentine’s vibe are you looking for? Is it romantic, whimsical, or pretty in pink? I love all the colors of Valentine’s Day, so I went with a whimsical vibe. Here is a list of some decor ideas:
- Heart-shaped balloons and garlands.
- A DIY photo booth with props like tiaras, boas, and fun signs.
- Fresh flowers in mason jars or vases for a chic centerpiece.
- Fairy lights for a cozy and whimsical feel.
Food & Drinks
Appetizers:
- Mini quiches, sliders, or charcuterie boards.
- Heart-shaped finger sandwiches or cookies.
Desserts:
- A dessert bar with cupcakes, macarons, and chocolate-dipped strawberries.
- A make-your-own sundae or waffle bar.
- A chocolate Fondue
- A char-treaterie board lol. Yes, instead of meat and cheese, it’s sweets!
Signature Drinks:

- Hot Cocoa Bar
Activities and Entertainment
- Galentine’s trivia or “How Well Do You Know Each Other?”
- Group photos and Polaroid cameras to capture memories.
- Make a playlist with love songs or songs from your favorite Rom-Com movies
Creating a Pretty Tablescape
Creating a gorgeous tablescape for your Galentine’s Day party will set the tone for a fun and memorable celebration. Here’s how to design a picture-perfect setup:
Stick to a cohesive palette for an elegant and coordinated look. Add texture with placemats, lace overlays, or chiffon runners. I bought my runner and placemats from Amazon. Use fresh blooms like roses, peonies, tulips, or carnations.
I purchased this adorable heart-shaped flower holder on Amazon, Linked here. This makes for a beautiful centerpiece. Add a mix of taper and votive candles in varying heights.
Scatter heart-shaped confetti or faux pearls around the centerpiece. Include small framed quotes or signs about friendship and love. These fun little wood sayings are from Amazon as well.
Final Touches
Hang string lights, a garland, or a balloon arch above the table. I added this fun LOVE garland from my chandelier. I thought this added a fun little touch. Use calligraphy name cards or mini chalkboards to assign seats. Make Polaroid place cards. Print Polaroid-style photos of each guest and place it next to their table setting. Write their name with a fun gold marker or pen.
Galentine’s Day means celebrating the incredible women in my life who bring joy, laughter, and strength to my world. It’s a day to pause and appreciate the bonds of friendship that carry us through the highs and lows of life. It’s about honoring our unique connections, sharing stories, and creating beautiful memories together.
Cheers, Stephanie
