Bridal Tea Party
High Tea for the Bride to Be!
This bridal shower was so fun to plan! I had the pleasure of designing this beautiful bridal shower for one of my good friend’s daughters, who also happens to be a great friend of my daughter.
Delaney said she wanted to do a whimsical tea party. I’m not sure how whimsical I got with this decor, but I indeed got the tea part down.
Tea Cup Decor
Luckily I have several china sets and tea cups from my mom and my grandmothers. I had a variety of tea cups to choose from with different styles and colors. I didn’t want everything to match, so having so many choices was outstanding. If you don’t have the luxury of owning your tea cups, you can easily find them at an antique or thrift store. Also, I found some here on Amazon.
Table Settings
My vision was pink and beautiful flowers. I wanted everyone to sit at the same table, so having a yard big enough to achieve this was great. I lined up five Costco tables and was able to fit 32 chairs around them.
My place settings started with a white charger from Hobby Lobby and added the glass plates I purchased from the dollar store. These plates have been an excellent investment. I have used them several times for different holidays. Also, I had a set of cloth napkins that I found at my mom’s, and I wanted to find similar napkins. I found a couple of different sets on Amazon. They don’t quite match, and that’s ok. Lastly, I added a tea cup and saucer to the glass plate.
Center Piece
I found an old lace tablecloth that I cut into smaller pieces to make the table runner. Eucalyptus garland was the primary green and filler piece. I added real flowers along with faux. My hydrangeas were in full bloom, so I took advantage of these beautiful flowers and added them to the center of the table. Adding a few lanterns to the table gave it a delicate touch. The pompous grass was a lovely choice and added a bit of a boho feel to the setting. Lastly were the shabby chic-tiered trays full of desserts and treats. I loved adding these trays to the table, making it the perfect traditional high tea afternoon.
What to serve at High Tea
The menu was a delicious display of yummy finger sandwiches and salads. I served items that could easily be assembled the morning of the party, with a bit of prep work the day before. I will link all the recipes I found on Pinterest.
