Fall is slowly taking over, and I’m ok with that! I love the leaves changing and the cooler temps. Fall is such a great time to do so many family bucket list activities and to enjoy some of the great outdoors.

Family Fall Bucket List

Below I’ve put together some of the things we have done as a family over the years. The kids are all grown now but we still like to get together and do a lot of these things as grown-ups.

Family Fall Bucket List

1. Bake Something Pumpkin

My favorite go-to Fall baking recipe is Pumpkin Bread. This recipe is the best. I will link it here, Best Pumpkin Bread Ever! Everyone in my family asks for it every year.

2. Drink Apple Cider

The best Apple Cider comes from the farm. While you’re picking out your pumpkins be sure to grab a gallon on the Cider as well. Most pumpkin patches usually sell it.

3. Go to a Pumpkin Patch

Craven Farm in Snohomish WA

We have so many local pumpkin farms in our area, it’s hard to pick just one as a favorite. Most of them will provide other fun fall activities like hayrides and a corn maze. We went to Craven Farm this year but here are a couple of other fun ones in my area.

4. Read a Book by the Fire

5. Have a Pumpkin Carving Night

This is one of my best Fall activities. Get the family together for a pot of chili and some cornbread (maybe a glass of wine) and carve some pumpkins. After we are done carving, we take the Jack-O-Lanterns out to the front porch, light them and vote to see who did the best carving.

6. Roast Marshmallows by a Bonfire

7. Go on a Hike

The weather in the PNW is hit and miss, so when you find a day with no rain it’s fun to get outside and go on a hike or even a nature walk, just to look at all the beautiful colors out there in the “fall “world. lol One of my favorite hikes is The Oyster Dome, it has such majestic views at the top!

8. Go Apple Picking and make Apple Sauce

9. Decorate your Home with all the Fall Warm Fuzzies

13. Visit a Haunted House

One of the best haunted houses around, Georgetown Morgue In Seattle, Oh my gosh, this place is insane! If you want a good scare, this is the place to go.

14. Host a Friendsgiving Party

These have become very popular over the last few years. What a great way to enjoy your friends and let them know how thankful you are to have them in your life. Friendsgiving doesn’t have to be a huge undertaking, if you’re not really wanting to cook, order take out or do it pot-luck style!

15. Make a Simmering Pot

My mom used to do this growing up and I completely forgot about it until I saw something on Pinterest. This is such a fun, easy, and inexpensive way to bring some great fall scents into your home. It’s super easy, just add a few things to a pot and let it simmer on the stove. This is the most current one I did. I sliced up an orange and added a cinnamon stick and some cloves along with a few spices like cardamon, nutmeg and pumpkin spice to a pan of water and boy does it make your house smell wonderful!

You could also add apple cider or some sliced apples instead of water but I think the water worked just fine. This actually lasted for about 4 days. Obviously, I would take it off the stove if I was not home or when we went to bed but had it simmering all day while I am hanging out at home.

16. Wear your Favorite Cozy Flannel and Boots

17. Go to a Football Game

It’s football season!! Yay! I don’t necessarily love football or understand it much, but I love everything that goes with football. Beautiful crisp days, baking something in the kitchen, getting together with family and friends, and supporting my local sports team. Go Hawks!!

18. Light a Fall Scented Candle

20. Go to a Fall Farmers Market

21. Take a Family Photo

22. Walk Through the Sunflower Fields

Take a family walk through the sunflowers! Maybe get a family photo? Enjoy these beautiful big flowers. They are amazing!

Please let me know if I need to add more to my bucket list. I would love to hear your family’s fall traditions. XOXO

Happy Fall!!! Cheers, Stephanie
