DIY Pom Heart Valentine Wreath
Ok, so I have totally been into the pom-pom making! It started at Christmas, putting pom-poms on all my gifts, and now I’ve moved on to Valentine’s Day. It’s so fun to use poms to decorate for the holidays! I found this fun little wreath on Pinterest (thank you for the inspiration Country Peony), and wanted to make my own. Here is how I made it.

Tools
Let’s start with what you will need to make this adorable Valentine’s wreath. You can click on each of these items to see what I used or for a quick purchase.
~Wire Wreath
~Clover Pom-Pom Maker
~Yarn (pick your own color choice)
~Hot Glue Gun & Sticks
~Sharp Scissors
First

Make your pom-poms. I think I have about 33 poms on this wreath. The amount just depends on what size poms you use. I have three sizes and four colors of yarn.
Fun Fact: I timed myself while making a pom-pom, and it takes me about 4 minutes to make each one. But super easy to do while watching your favorite TV show.

Pom-pom Making
This is pretty important when making your poms. Make sure you spin the yarn very tightly and make it as fat as possible. I make mine fat enough, so it’s pretty hard to close the pom maker shut. I hope that makes sense. Here is a photo to give you a visual. Also, make sure your pom is nice and tight, and leave the string long so you can tie it to your wire wreath. You might have to trim up your pom a bit; there are usually a few strings hanging out. And the more you trim it, the fluffier it gets!

Second
Before I start adding my poms to the wreath, I lay out the pom design to see how it will look.

Double-knot your poms to the wreath, then add a little hot glue to keep them from moving around.

Next
Start adding your poms to your wreath! I put different sizes next to each other to add a little dimension. Just make sure, as you are adding, that you don’t lose the shape of the heart. I got a little carried away and had to readjust of few of my poms. LOL
After you are done adding your poms, you might want to trim up your heart a bit and make sure it still looks like a heart.
Adding a Hanger
If you want to hang your wreath, add a piece of yarn or I added a piece of jut to the back of the wire wreath by tying two knots like I’ve shown below.

Well, I would love to hear about your experience if you decide to make this wreath. Happy DIYing and Happy Valentine’s Day!!
