Fall is slowly settling in, and Iām here for it! The changing leaves, crisp air, and cozy layers make it one of the best times to get outside and check off a few family bucket list adventures.

Below, I’ve put together some of the things we have done as a family over the years. The kids are all grown now, but we still like to get together and do a lot of these things as grown-ups.
Family Fall Bucket List
1. Bake Something Pumpkin
My favorite go-to Fall baking recipe is Pumpkin Bread. This recipe is the best. I will link it here: Best Pumpkin Bread Ever! Everyone in my family asks for it every year.

2. Drink Apple Cider
The best Apple Cider comes from the farm. While you’re picking out your pumpkins, be sure to grab a gallon of Cider as well. Most pumpkin patches usually sell it.
3. Go to a Pumpkin Patch

We have so many local pumpkin farms in our area, it’s hard to pick just one as a favorite. Most of them will provide other fun fall activities like hayrides and a corn maze. We went to Craven Farm this year but here are a couple of other fun ones in my area.

4. Read a Book by the Fire

I just ordered this on Amazon. Hope its a good one! Book Link Here
5. Have a Pumpkin Carving Night
This is one of my best Fall activities. Get the family together for a pot of chili and some cornbread (maybe a glass of wine) and carve some pumpkins. After we are done carving, we take the Jack-O-Lanterns out to the front porch, light them and vote to see who did the best carving.

6. Roast Marshmallows by a Bonfire

7. Go on a Hike
The weather in the PNW is hit and miss, so when you find a day with no rain, it’s fun to get outside and go on a hike or even a nature walk, to look at all the beautiful colors out there in the “fall “world. lol One of my favorite hikes is The Oyster Dome, it has such majestic views at the top!
8. Go Apple Picking and make Apple Sauce
9. Decorate your Home with all the Fall Warm Fuzzies
I have a post on all my fall decor inspo, Linked Here

10. Visit a Corn Maze
11. Go to a Harvest Festival

12. Visit a Winery. It’s Crush Season!

Here are a few fabulous wineries in the Yakima Valley. Daven Lore, Barrel Springs, Airfield Estates. Here is one of my posts onĀ What to Wear to a Winetasting.

13. Visit a Haunted House
One of the best haunted houses around, Georgetown Morgue in Seattle, Oh my gosh, this place is insane! If you want a good scare, this is the place to go.
14. Host a Friendsgiving Party
These have become very popular over the last few years. What a great way to enjoy your friends and let them know how thankful you are to have them in your life. Friendsgiving doesn’t have to be a huge undertaking; if you don’t want to cook, order takeout, or do it potluck style!

15. Make a Simmering Pot
My mom used to do this growing up, and I completely forgot about it until I saw something on Pinterest. This is such a fun, easy, and inexpensive way to bring some great fall scents into your home. It’s super easy, add a few things to a pot and let it simmer on the stove. This is the most current one I did. I sliced up an orange and added a cinnamon stick and some cloves, along with a few spices like cardamon, nutmeg, and pumpkin spice, to a pan of water, and boy, does it make your house smell wonderful!
You could also add apple cider or some sliced apples instead of water, but I think the water worked just fine. This actually lasted for about 5 days.

16. Wear your Favorite Cozy Flannel and Boots

17. Go to a Football Game
It’s football season!! Yay! I don’t necessarily love football or understand it much, but I love everything that goes with football. Beautiful crisp days, baking something in the kitchen, getting together with family and friends, and supporting my local sports team. Go Hawks!!
18. Light a Fall Scented Candle

19. Make a Harvest Punch

I have a fun recipe linked here. I have made this punch several times, and it is such a hit with the crowd!
20. Go to a Fall Farmers Market
As autumn settles in, local markets overflow with the best of the harvest season. Stalls are piled high with pumpkins, gourds, apples, and pears, alongside baskets of fresh squash, vegetables, and late-season flowers like dahlias and sunflowers. The air often smells of spiced cider, baked goods, and roasted nuts, and you might even hear live music or see families bundled up, sipping coffee while they shop.
21. Take a Family Photo

22. Walk Through the Sunflower Fields

Take a family walk through the sunflowers! Maybe get a family photo? Enjoy these beautiful, big flowers. They are amazing!
Please let me know if I need to add more to my bucket list. I would love to hear your family’s fall traditions. XOXO
